The T-4 Degausser for Computer Hard Drives and High Oersted Media is a new, 40,000 gauss degausser engineered to erase high-Oersted computer hard drives and high-Oersted tape cartridges. Its Effective Magnetic Field (EMF) of 4 Tesla or 40,000 gauss is the most powerful currently available on the market within this degausser's class.
This new degausser has received NSA approval and complies with DoD requirements for destroying classified information on magnetic media. input slot. The Proton T-4 actually produces 40,000 gauss uniform fields (4 Tesla) and usual NSA requirements are three times the flux versus media coercivity. If this general requirement is extrapolated, the Proton T-4 with 4 Tesla should reliably degauss media with a coercivity of 13,330 Oe. The T-4 Degausser's 40,000 gauss rating is powerful enough to erase all data on any computer tape or hard drive currently available with maximum physical dimensions of less than 6" x 4.3" x 1".

The T-4 Degausser, at 40,000 Gauss, offers patented new degaussing technology with NSA approval to provide the highest rated gauss rating on the market today: an Effective Magnetic Field (EMF) of 4 Tesla or 40,000 gauss. The degausser’s user-friendly input system provides effortless loading of various sized hard drives and tape media without the need for adapters. Simply slide the hard drive or tape cartridge into the opening, push the start button, and it emerges completely erased. As the very high gauss rating is several times stronger than the read/write heads in a hard drive or tape drive, this degausser is more efficient and much faster than software-based erasure programs. Since it does not rely on software, the T-4 also has the ability to erase failed or damaged hard drives and tapes, completely and permanently, regardless of the operating system.
Easy To Use
This easy-to-use unit features simple on/off operation with the push of a button and a very simple input slide. Simply slide the media into the unit, press the button, and your media will slide out the output slide degaussed. It features convenient table-top or floor operation. It is manufactured in the USA in ISO 9001 certified facilities.
