The Data Destroyer DX-CDm™ has been evaluated by NSA and meets the requirements of NSA/CSS Specification 04-02 for CD destruction. This premium device deploys a patented technology that eradicates CD and DVD data completely and permanently by sanding down into dust the data-storing layers of the disc. With the Data Destroyer DX-CDm™ there is absolutely no possibility of any forensic recovery of any kind.

Fast and convenient, the data-storing layers of the CD and DVD are sanded off in under 10 seconds per disc. The operator simply cranks the unit 20 times and the data removal is complete. This unit is fairly lightweight, highly portable, quiet enough for an office environment, safe, clean, and inexpensive to operate. The data-bearing layers are reduced to dust.

The grinder will sand through CD labels. However, DVD labels must be manually split from the disc before the unit can sand down the data layers. This is possible with the DVD Splitter, purchased with the unit as an option.

Evaluated by the NSA and meets the requirements of NSA/CSS 04-02 for CD Destruction. It also meets NIST SP 800-88 standard for Optical Disc Destruction. The unit is HIPAA, FACTA, Sarbanes-Oxley and Gramm-Leach-Bliley compliant.

The Replacement pad set of 3 discs must be replaced after the destruction of approximately 100 CD or DVD discs.

Please note: For DVD destruction this unit requires the DVD Splitter. DVDs can be destroyed after splitting off the gummy labels from the surface of the DVD. DVD labels are thicker and will not be completely destroyed by the machine, but they can be split to enable the DVD to be completely destroyed.
