The HDTD-8300 Hard Disc Drive and Tape Degausser is a compact, "hands-free," easy-to-use machine that is ideal for office and computer room operations. The HDTD-8300 Hard Disc Drive and Tape Degausser can be placed in any office or laboratory location and shipped to multi-user sites easily. It takes only 45 seconds to completely erase a hard drive or magnetic media tape cartridge after the erasure cycle has started.

Stored energy is quickly released to produce short, focused erasing fields that penetrate the hard drive housing, changing the magnetic properties contained on the data disk platters. Thus, the hard drives are rendered completely unusable after erasure. Because the HDTD-8300 Hard Disc Drive and Tape Degausser's erasing field is many times stronger than the writing and erasing heads inside the hard drive, the degausser provides superior erasure over all computer rewrite programs that rely on the hard drive's internal write heads for erasure. The will automatically erase all formats and sizes of hard drives up to 1.65 inches in height and 4.5 inches wide and 7.87 inches deep.

The HDTD-8300 Hard Disc Drive and Tape Degausser doesn't rely on software, therefore it erases all operating systems. In addition, degaussing is the only way of erasing hard drives that are not functioning. New security and privacy mandates require complete erasure of media containing customer and employee information before discarding media. The degausser comes with a resuable shipping case for shipping and storage when the machine is not in use. The mobility of the machine makes it ideal for shared services and rental applications. It comes ready to operate with the following accessories: Reusable carrying case, Power cable, Two attached removable trays, a spacer for 3.5 inch HDD, a spacer for freelance size media, a spacer sized for 2.5 inch, an HDD spacer sized for thin 2.5 inch HDD, an Operation manual, and a one year warranty. The two removable trays are 4.5 inches wide x 1.66 inches high x 7.87 inches deep. One can be placed in the degausser while the second is loaded with the next drive. Spacers permit the degaussing of DLT tape, S-DLT tape, 8 mm tape, and other tape cartridges.
