The Model 2070 DLT Tape Cartridge Degausser is a very low cost stand-alone machine certified for use on standard and high-density media. It uses permanent magnets and does not require external power. It meets DoD requirements, as well as being completely mobile and not overheating. Your first defense in high energy data cartridge security is the Model 2070 DLT Tape Cartridge Degausser.

This machine distinguishes itself from other degaussers by being a low-cost, shielded device. Unlike other degaussers with unshielded magnets, the Model 2070 cannot accidentally corrupt other magnetic media that may be near. Additionally, the degausser does not require a skilled operator to insure proper declassification of the target data. A simple pass through the cartridge aperture insures complete, effective erasure.

This unit does not require any external power source and is thus ideal for use in the field or in remote locations. There are no magnetic coils to overheat, so the machine enjoys continuous duty 24 hours per day and seven days per week.

The machine can be rented at a cost of $300.00 per month and can be purchased as a remanufactured degausser at a price of $1,095.00.

The new Model 2070 DLT degausser erases DLT I, II, III, and IV, and it provides the maximum erasure for all Type I, Type II, and Type III data cartridges and cassettes which measure less than 5/8" thick and 5 ¼" wide. This compact, efficient unit completely degausses all magnetic media which can be passed through the opening in the degausser.
