The DDR-1 Secure End-of-Life System for Hard Drives is a workstation that provides a secure and convenient solution for retiring hard drives. The DDR-1 includes a physical workstation where users can protect drives under lock and key until they are degaussed with the HD-3WXL Continuous Duty Hard Drive and Tape Degausser and then destroyed with the PD-4 Physical Hard Drive Destroyer. The package also includes 2 color coded bins to indicate HDDs that are slated for destruction and those that have been destroyed, and one blue wastebin for recycling.

The DDR-1 offers complete end-of-life hard drive security in three easy steps, as demonstrated here:

	STEP 1: Safely Store Data Hard drives are easily deposited and safely stored inside a locked cabinet until processed by an authorized IT Technician.
	STEP 2: Unrecoverable Data Erasure Hard drives are completely erased by the HD-3WXL degausser in about 6 seconds and automatically deposited into the yellow bin ready for physical destruction.  The Data is unrecoverable by any means.
	STEP 3: Physical Destruction Once degaussed, the hard drives are physically destroyed and can be safely recycled.

Hard drives are stored in a secure, locked environement until they are degaussed and then physically destroyed. Once destroyed, the drives ate placed into the blue recycling bin, and can be sent to a recycler and stripped of valuable component parts.

Operation
The DDR-1 workstation is designed to provide a secure area in which to store media before degaussing, and also to manage degaussed and destroyed media after processing using color coded bins and a special recycling container. Users can easily deposit media ready to be degaussed in the secure drop slot on the top of the workstation, where it will be securely stored until the degaussing process. Media is then later removed for degaussing by opening the secure cabinet underneath the table to begin the decommissioning process. After degaussing, the drive can be crushed in the PD-4 hard drive physical destroyer.
