The StorageTek 9940 Cartridge Data Eraser is the newest solution to 9940 data cartridge erasure. It completely removes the date contained in the four cartridge data bands. The StorageTek 9940 Cartridge Data Eraser sanitizes 9940A, 9940B and 9940C tape cartridges, restoring them to “like new” condition and enabling them to be reused.

Degaussing renders 9940 data cartridges useless because it removes the manufacturer-recorded Servo Tracks. This stand-alone desktop eraser removes all data contained in the data bands but leaves the five servo bands intact. It utilizes a remanufactured 9940 StorageTek drive, combined with completely new electronics, erase station, and software. The warranty period is one year from date of shipment.

Simple Operation
The desktop model operates as a stand-alone unit. No additional software or hardware is required. Simply insert a cartridge into the eraser and in 3.25 minutes an erased cartridge will automatically eject. Erasure occurs at the maximum tape drive speed of up to 11 meters per second.

Rental and Remanufactured
This unit is also available for rental for $1,495.00 per month plus 50 cents per cartridge. An extended warranty is available at a cost of $1,200 per year using depot repair. Please request pricing for on-site maintenance or equipment manufactured with a new StorageTek drive.
