Super DLT Autoload Cartridge Cleaner/Inspector

The SDLT Autoload Inspector/Cleaner removes surface debris which interferes with head to tape contact, retensions tape to industry standards and optically scans Super DLT and DLT tape cartridges for physical damage. The machine operates at 200 inches per second. It processes a SDLT cartridge in less than four (4) minutes, a 1200 foot DLT cartridge in less than three (3) minutes, and an 1828 foot DLT cartridge in less than four (4) minutes. The ten cartridge magazine can process, clean and inspect SDLT and DLT cartridges in about half an hour.

Cleaning and inspecting tape cartridges ensures that your cartridges are functioning at optimum performance levels! The tape is automatically extracted from the cartridge, wrapped around four (4) automatically advancing tissue stations, cleaned by a sapphire blade (if engaged), optically inspected, and ejected or returned to the magazine. The automatically advancing cleaning tissues are made of non-shedding nylon material that is placed both before and after the sapphire cleaning blade, and both sides of the tape are thoroughly cleaned twice. The cleaning blade, which burnishes the tape in both directions, is a precise bi-directional double-edged sapphire blade designed to remove debris adhered to the tape.
